Half of laid-off workers finding jobs

A new survey reports that almost half of those laid off in the last year found either full or part-time jobs.

“This is encouraging news for the 3.3 million workers who have lost their jobs in recent months,” said Brent Rasmussen, President of CareerBuilder North America. “It’s going to take longer to find a job in today’s market, but there are opportunities out there in key areas such as healthcare, government, education, sales and technology…”

If you’re suddently without work, Rasmussen suggests devoting at least 5 hours a day to your job search — networking, polishing your skill set and your resume, etc.

Keep an eye on Iwanna’s job listings for local opportunities.
